I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: If Israel had REALLY wanted to commit genocide, there wouldn’t have been a soul left alive in Gaza on October 8th.
Oy vey! It’s exhausting. Thank you so much for doing this, Elissa, and for sharing it publicly. I can’t do it, but somebody has to. You are correct that we are all confronted with these misinformed opinions, by people we think should know better. I think it’s important for people to read discussions like yours. I appreciate you so much for trying to educate people by spreading the truth. Enjoy your restful Shabbat, and come back fighting for us all again next week. Todah rabah! ✡️🇮🇱❤️🎶
I spend hours everyday writing more or less what you've been writing; yours is 10-fold more articulate and well constructed. The misinformation makes me crazy, everybody quoting the Hamas sources as factual and real including journalist writing, but I think the most the most devastating thing to my mental health is the relentless double standard... expectations and standards for Israel versus any other group in the rest of the world. In particular, as you point out, Hamas and Palestinians seem to have absolutely no accountability whatsoever according to the people I am arguing with. Every conversation I have or listen to among others the blame is so blatantly, so obviously unbalanced that I lose all respect for all the pundits as well as friends. The only conclusion I can come to is that it's Jew hatred that is blinding people. I too am exhausted and demoralized. But we have to keep fighting and you are heroic.
I jettisoned my best friend of 40 years over this. Ironically, she really believed she was “helping” by encouraging “discussion” and “tolerance” of people who are deliberately pushing out Holocaust denial and inversion, and coded hate speech against us.
I am impressed that you are are willing to engage very diplomatically with your friend online. However, wouldn't it be more productive and healthier to do so offline, one on one, and verbally? Or to get off Facebook? It doesn't seem like anyone who hates Israel is going to be convinced by facts.

Elisa, you are a true warrior! I am almost brought to tears by your unwavering passion and brilliant ongoing analyses. THANK YOU

Yes. You know I'm so with you on this... all of it.
So well said. Shabbat shalom.
Thank you, as always. May we all have a Shabbat of sheket and shalom.

Yes, I'm aware of this, and unfortunately, most of the world still views the UN as a neutral humanitarian actor when the polar opposite is true.
