How meta to open this from my hotel room in Tel Aviv and read this! Tomorrow I visit the horrors of October 7 firsthand, and I must say that stealing myself for that experience in the shadow of this election feels truly unbearable.

My heart = love for you, not for your distress.

Let’s forget about Jews for a moment. Let’s ask people of NYC: how many of you actually want to abolish borders, prisons, police and private property? My guess would be a tiny minority. And yet people are so blinded by antisemitism and antizionism that they elect these insane ideologues. And don’t tell me that DSA doesn’t mean it. When a politician tells you what they are, believe them.

When Elissa gets, shall we say perturbed, her words become as accurate as they are incendiary. 🔥🇮🇱

Elissa, once more you nailed it. The defeated candidates worked hard for their constituencies and advocated for things we all care about. Their "take down" had nothing to do with what they have done for their contituencies or for the City and country and Constitution they are committed to serve.

If I were younger, I’d move to Israel. The DSA is horrifying. The interesting thing is that middle class, working class and bipoc people didn’t vote for these haters. They’re being supported by white college educated people who are economically well off. Third worldism brought to you by people who fundamentally hate this country.

The DSA is every bit as antisemitic as Nick Fuentes and the far right.

Thank you for this. What we're going through is so fucking awful, so demanding of all our inner resources, it's extremely valuable to have some contact with the minds of people who get it. Today's installment had me hit the paid subscription button. Please free-subscribe to my own substack in return, and keep this good stuff coming. I've also send gift subscriptions to Never Alone to three friends.

I appreciate your support more than I can say. Thank you so very much. And I will absolutely subscribe to your stack!

Hi, I shared your analysis on the nyc primaries earlier this week. Truly excellent job encapsulating what occurred.

I would have preferred a Reynoso victory to Valdez's, but let's be clear: It would have been hard for me to vote for him, too, were I a resident of that district: https://www.jta.org/2026/06/18/ny/in-a-ny-race-with-no-pro-israel-candidate-aipac-becomes-a-flashpoint-anyway.

But that's part of the point. Reynoso was anti-Israel too but he was defeated by thr false rumor that he accepted funds from AIPAC. The desired effect is that AIPAC support will become political poison.

My apologies--I must not have grasped that part of the analysis; I was focusing more on the suggested comparison (as similarly preferable figures) between Espaillat and Reynoso.

No worries whatsoever!
