Confusing two cities in another state is a very on brand for me, so I fully sympathize, both with the mistake and the ensuing panic. But it warms my heart to know that so much good came from it, and that no matter how bleak the world is, there are always more good people to light up the darkness. You are one such light. Wishing you a wonderful time at the conference!
Years ago I was invited to a conference at Colorado State University. When booking my flight, I remembered it was in a town with two names, so I confidentally booked to Colorado Springs which, it turned out when I arrived at 10pm, is 130 miles from its actual home in Fort Collins. Similar to your plight, no buses, no trains, my talk was scheduled for 8am the next day. Fortunately, an off duty limo driver was willing to take me for the cost of a train and I made it on time. Did I mention I'm a professional geographer? No Jewish spin to my saga except maybe as a wandering Jew, but it happens to the best of us. Or at least to me and you. Enjoy the conference -- it sounds delightful!

Mixing flights happens to the best of us occasionally.
‘I walk around on fire with love for the Jewish people’ made me cry. I love you, Elissa Wald.
I LOVE YOU TOO.
Just cancelled my membership to Pen America. Very disappointing news.
