Elissa, your writing about NYT's spin is so accurate and the paper's constant anti-Israel drumbeat infuriating and dangerous. Whenever I read your "Never Alone" pieces I think how your title says so much about the need to feel connected to others who understand this. Thank you again for being there and for saying what needs to be said. Yours, Nancy
The NYT has always been abominable in its coverage of Israel, but it seems to take a particular delight in highlighting articles/columns/op-eds from "As a Jew" Jews who spew their venom against Israel from (usually) the relative safety of a western city. My hatred of that paper borders on the pathological at this point, if I'm being honest.
Which retail platform is most beneficial for the authors? I want to purchase the two books mentioned in this post, Litany for a broken world and Mothers and other fictional characters. I try to avoid Amazon but will use it if that’s most beneficial for the authors.
Thank you James for wanting to support these fine authors. Below is L.J. Cohen's response about buying her "Litany for a Broken World." Regards, Sally
<<For ebooks, buying at Gumroad is probably the best for me. https://ljcohen.gumroad.com/l/litany though really, whatever platform works for the reader is fine. In terms of paperbacks, the book is available at bookshop.org in addition to Amazon, though the author's share of physical copies is very little regardless of platform.>>
A really good sanity check for me has been Josh Levs's They Stand Corrected, which is a podcast with a substack companion: https://theystandcorrected.substack.com/

Once more, Elissa Wald gets it right.

You are so endlessly wonderful. Nicole gratefully suggested Bookshop or an indie local store. Sally is asking LJ!
