Hey, beloved tribe.
What an extraordinary turn of events. There are no words for the feeling.
After almost two whole excruciating years, with our people suffering nearly every kind of loss imaginable, Am Yisrael has once again risen straight from the ashes into the stratosphere.
I have never been prouder to be part of the Jewish nation. This elation is simply indescribable.
The notorious Doomsday Clock in the town square in Tehran, counting down the days until Israel’s would-be destruction, has been obliterated by the IDF.
And speaking of broken clocks, we need a new metaphor. What’s right only once in almost ten years? That’s the comparison we need for Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities.
No one loathes the man more than me, but I am delirious with joy in the wake of that action. It isn’t even slightly dimmed by the thunderous noise emanating from the dumbest progressives this world has ever seen, who have utterly lost the plot.
Here is a glimpse of my Facebook page from Saturday evening:
This is where I am, fam. If I stopped caring what they thought after October 7th, my indifference only deepened, if that’s possible, after their response to this. Never have I seen such rank hypocrisy. Jew hatred is wild. Progressives will stand with the Islamic Regime of Iran if Jews are on the other side.
In a way, I’m glad the left is screaming in defense of Iran, because Iran is the perfect, flawless litmus test of whether these people are motivated by any humanitarian principles at all, or whether they just hate Jews.
With Gaza, they can set aside the barbaric sociopathy of Hamas and blather about “asymmetrical” warfare; they can whine that Israel is Goliath to the Palestinians’ David.
So here is a visual of Israel and Iran:
With Gaza, they could say that they understand the desire to fight Hamas but the civilian collateral damage — incurred by the terrorist group’s decision to embed themselves in hospitals, schools and mosques — makes the cost of going after them far too high.
Meanwhile, as Iran quite deliberately bombs civilian targets in Israel, including a major hospital — SHOCKER! None of them care. In fact, they’re gleeful.
And the fact that Israel is going after ONLY Iranian military sites? That they’ve telegraphed their support for the Iranian people in every way imaginable — including blowing the doors of the barbaric Evin prison (where political dissidents are caged and tortured) off their hinges without injuring a single human being? Also irrelevant! Israel is a monster. Hands off Iran.
Let me briefly list the arguments I’ve heard from within my own political party in the last 48 hours. And I’ll counter them here, in case that’s useful to anyone. I’ll lift them right off the debate raging on my page. Feel free to copy and paste if it’s convenient when faced with the same rhetoric from your own circles.
We just committed an act of war without congressional approval, in an administration that literally dgaf about the rule of law if someone brown is involved.
Obama and Biden both struck the Middle East without Congressional approval as well, in the context of Libya and Yemen respectively. You probably weren’t howling about that so let’s not indulge in double standards when the Jewish nation is involved. Trump does plenty of unprecendented things, but this wasn’t one of them.
Beyond that, I can’t mourn. This was an excellent thing.
And Israelis are as brown as Iranians. That's a very misguided lens for viewing this theater.
Trump is a f'n moron. He just put us into a non-winnable war.
On the first part, we agree. But I don’t know why you would think this is a non-winnable war. Israel has killed all of Iran’s top brass. She has killed Iran’s top nuclear scientists. She has decimated Iran’s military capabilities. And now their nuclear program has been deeply damaged if not totally destroyed. The regime is widely despised, both from without and within. No regional allies are stepping up and the Iranian people loathe their own government. In this vastly weakened and isolated state, just how is Iran going to win a war with both Israel and the U.S.?
Israel dragged the U.S. into its war. Netanyahu played Trump like a fiddle.
This is a psychotic thing to say. After decades of abject cowardice and appeasement from all the major powers in the West, little tiny Israel was kicking the shit out of huge hulking murderous Iran with undreamed-of competence all by itself. It even explicitly told Trump that if he decided not to step up, it was okay — that Israel could handle Iran alone.
Trump understandably felt emasculated by this. He’s had nothing but loss. He failed to bring China to its knees in his trade war. He failed to end the Russian war on Ukraine on day one, or ever. He failed to stop the Gaza War on day one, or ever. He was begging Iran to reinstate the deal he himself had called the worst of the century and dramatically ripped up on TV.
After Israel cleared the skies over Iran and totally declawed, defanged and castrated the regime, he was finally motivated to drop some bombs so he could claim some kind of ownership over this incredible historical moment.
That’s not on Israel. Fuck all the way off with that.
Trump just bought us 30 years of terrorist attacks. It won’t be worth it. Ever.
Iran has been the world’s foremost architect, engineer and exporter of terror for decades on end. So there wouldn't be the same terror attacks if they had a nuclear facility? Now I've heard everything. Jihadists can wage terror all over the globe but we shouldn't do anything to stop them because then there will be more terror attacks? Brilliant. That doesn’t deserve to be dignified with any further response.
Then there’s good old Bernie Sanders with this one:
If the people of Israel support [Netanyahu’s] decision to start a war with Iran, that is their business and their war. The United States must not be a part of it.
Start a war with Iran? Did I really just read that?
Does Bernie somehow fail to understand that October 7th was Iran? That Hezbollah was Iran? That the Houthis, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and every other regional proxy that has attacked Israel over and over and over for decades are all tentacles of Iran?
Does he not understand that the U.S. has been at war with Iran since 1979? That they abducted our hostages? Killed our Marines? Have made “Death To America” their national mantra and overarching ambition for all that time?
On this front, he’s an embarrassment to the tribe.
Back to my page:
Every American or European who will die now because of a sleeper terror cell somewhere will be blamed on us. This will only stoke anti-Semitism.
Everything is always blamed on us anyway. And I will never take an iota of responsibility for the world’s anti-Semitism. All of Europe and all of the Middle East turned on us in the middle of the last century when we had done not one aggressive or threatening thing. The few that didn’t turn on us still didn’t let us in; they turned our desperate refugee ships back toward death.
Our defenselessness did not help us. We can never go back.
Fam, it’s very important to understand this: safety wasn’t one of the choices on the table for us. We could choose to be Churchill or choose to be Chamberlain, but we know where appeasement leads. Not doing this was even more dangerous than doing this.
Iran has destroyed so many Arab countries, viciously abused its own people, fueled and underwritten REAL genocides, and destroying Israel was their cardinal ambition. They weren’t going to leave us alone.
I have so much more to say, but I’ve written enough for today. I will be back with you very soon.
I implore you to savor this moment. Not one thing is wrong with feeling elation about the U.S.’ strike. Don’t be gaslit, don’t be shouted down.
This is a moment to rejoice.
Am Yisrael Chai.
Thank you so so so much for this, you are so clear thinking. I was elated as well, but all of the nincompoops got me down
Thanks for making my day with your clear thinking , nothing but antisemitism on the other side
you called that right you are an amazing Singer and writer. I love all your posts, but this was the best. Thanks for saying it like it is. What is wrong with that idiot Bernie Sanders?
1) Jewish progressives are often more attached to their progressivism than to their Judaism, and they appear to be a big part of why Zohran Mamdani will win the Democratic Primary for mayor tomorrow. They should be careful what they wish for; it may not work out the way they hope.
2) "Israel dragged the U.S. into its war. Netanyahu played Trump like a fiddle." People who believe this are quite numerous, and they get REALLY offended if you dare point out that this is an inherently antisemitic position.
