Coincidentally, I’ve been wanting to address some issues that are not exclusively about Israel and/or Jews in my Substack too, and I’m weighing whether to start a second separate stack, or whether to rebrand my current one so that I can have broader topics. I suppose a third option is to simply apply a Jewish lens to whatever it is I’m writing about.
I spent an hour discussing this with a friend this morning, while also debating the pros/cons of going all in with a second stack, or still trying to pitch media outlets and/or lit mags.
LOL…I actually looked yours up to see if you’d made them each totally separate or if Judith was “sectioned in” under this one. I think you did the former, yes?
No, I wanted to consolidate but in the end it was too hard and the readership overlaps but is not identical. Never Alone is explicitly partisan. JUDITH is for all Jews.
I really liked the FB post about Pamela and Demi. I loved reading the comments days ago, excited that you had opened up an interesting discussion.
And just now, after reading this post, I went back to FB to re-read those comments. I don’t feel like anyone was coming for you. I even loved reading these comments a second time, because they exhibit such a broad range of perspectives.
I’m sorry that you’re feeling attacked by what people have said, and I hope you don’t feel that way about this comment.
P.S. Elissa - I looked up Sherman Alexie - I was sorry to read about him and women - This is all so weird - since we now have a sexual-harrasser-in -Chief as President...
Gee, I want to read this more carefully later...you're saying so much here. But first I want to ask you why was Sherman Alexie cancelled, of all people? Gee...I never heard that. I've admired and enjoyed his work so much.
I found your post about Anderson and Moore fascinating and had thoughts to respond but am dealing with family medical issues at the moment. I do want to say that Anderson earned a lot of my respect years ago when she took her novel's ghostwriter with her on tour and insisted folks getting Anderson's signature also get the ghostwriter's.

I asked myself exactly this just today! Three substacks though... I don’t think I can handle that.

I’m a little confused by the video you shared blaming Bibi for the war in Iraq. Who was speaking? It wasn’t T-rump.
It was Jeffrey Sachs but Trump posted it on his social media site, Truth Social.
He seems to live in an alternate reality.
And then there was Code Pink, blaming our support of Israel for the horrific Los Angeles wildfires. 🤯🤬
